Francesca Marciano (born July 17, 1955 in Rome ) is an Italian actress , screenwriter , writer and film director .

Life

Marciano graduated in Modern Literature. After she was already seen in several films between 1975 and 1978, she attended acting classes with Lee Strasberg ; Commissions as assistant director to Lionel Rogosin followed . In her home country she initially worked for cultural programs before making her film debut in 1983 with Stefania Casini , the comedy Lontano di dove , set in New York City . In 1988 a short film for an episode film followed, then Marciano turned to scriptwriting and worked several times for Carlo Verdone .

In 1992 Marciano was awarded the David di Donatello for the Verdone film Maledetto il giorno che t'ho incontrato ; In 2010 she received the Silver Ribbon for Io, loro e Lara .

She published three novels.
