Stefania Casini

Stefania Casini (born September 4, 1948 in Villa di Chiavenna ) is an Italian actress and film director .

Life

After completing a degree in architecture, Casini attended the Accademia Filodrammatica in Milan , where she was also taught by Esperia Sperani and received her first engagement in 1969 at the Teatro San Babila in the play Marionette, che passione! ; after that she played u. a. Plays by Luigi Pirandello and William Shakespeare . She could also be seen on cabaret stages; She made her television debut in 1972 while working for Daniele D'Anza (in ESP ), Mario Landi (in Nessuno deve sapere ) and Vittorio Cottafavi (in the comedy La scuola delle mogli ). In addition, the versatile artist also worked as a journalist after a stay in the USA and was responsible for several contributions for the Mixer program .

At the beginning of the 1970s she also gained a foothold in feature films and played a number of roles in major films such as 1900 , Suspiria and Affentraum , but also in many strictly commercial works. She was involved in the moderation of the Sanremo Festival in 1978 and made her debut in 1983 as a director with her colleague Francesca Marciano at Lontano da dove , in this role she shot a television series in six episodes at the end of the 1980s and did not return to the screen until 1997. Her acting activity decreased to the same extent. After the turn of the millennium, she was only seen in the miniseries Incantesimo 6 in 2003 and eleven years later in Maicol Jecson . Casini is still active as a documentary director.
