Francesco Biscogli

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Francesco Biscogli (* after 1700 , † after 1750 ) was an Italian composer of the pre-classical period.

Francesco Biscogli is missing all of the biographical data. Only two, a triple concerto for trumpet , oboe , bassoon with two violins and basso continuo in D major and a flute concerto in G major , which was written around 1740 and found in Paris as a manuscript, point to him. It is believed that he was trained in Naples , since the first-mentioned work, in accordance with the Neapolitan customs, does not include a viola part.

A version of the concert edited by the British musicologist Michael Talbot was published in 1972 by Breitkopf & Härtel .
