Life

Fidanza, a student of Eugène Delacroix , later lived in Paris and died in Milan in 1819. Pictures of the seaports of Italy for the viceroy Eugen , now partly in the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan, are his most important creations.

His brother Gregorio was also a landscape painter and a pupil of Delacroix, then the lucky imitator of Claude Lorrain and Salvator Rosa , so that he did very good business in alleged originals of the two masters to England . He died around 1820.
