Francesco Laudadio
Francesco Laudadio (born January 2, 1950 in Mola di Bari , † April 6, 2005 in Bologna ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .
Life
Laudadio completed a degree in philosophy and began working as an editing secretary and later as an assistant director for films by Pasquale Squitieri and Mario Monicelli . In 1982 he made his debut with Grog , which was awarded the David di Donatello and which was followed by respected and successful works in the following years: After the anti-nuclear film Topo Galileo , Laudadio shot the satire on the newly rich southern Italian La riffa and the drama of a citizen becoming a killer, Persone perbene , 1992. From the mid-1990s, Laudadio was also increasingly active on television. Some scripts were written for fellow directors.
In 1977 a literary work by Laudadio, Scrivano Ingannamorte , was published.
recognition
Since 2009 the Bari International Film Festival (BIF & ST) has been awarding the award named after him for the best debut film among the nominated festival films.
