Francis Alfred Lepper

Francis (Frank) Alfred Lepper (born May 24, 1913 in Oxford ; † September 7, 2005 in Trewollack ) was a British ancient historian .

Francis Lepper attended Marlborough College and studied at New College, Oxford (1932-1936). He was a lecturer in Ancient History at Corpus Christi College from 1937 to 1939 . During the Second World War he worked at Bletchley Park on projects that were not completed. He was a fellow and tutor at Corpus Christi College from 1939 to 1980 , teaching ancient history. From 1946 to 1951, Lepper was dean of Corpus Christi College.

Lepper wrote few studies, but his work on Trajan's Parthian War (1948) and the Trajan's Column (with Sheppard Frere , 1988) are still important today.
