Francis Edward Bache
Francis Edward Bache (born September 14, 1833 in Birmingham , England ; † August 24, 1858 there ) was an English composer and organist.
Life
He enjoyed extensive training as a pianist and organist in England (including William Sterndale Bennett his teacher for three years). Bache continued his music education in Leipzig in 1853 , where he worked with Moritz Hauptmann . In 1855 he fell ill with tuberculosis , from which he did not recover until his death in 1858. When he died at the age of 24, he left behind a considerable number of compositions, including a manuscript of the Piano Concerto in E major. It was kept in the library of the Royal Academy of Music . This was released in 2006 by Hyperion Records ; probably it is the world premiere and the first recording.
