The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kasama ( Latin Archidioecesis Kasamaensis , English Archdiocese of Kasama ) is in Zambia situated Roman Catholic Archdiocese based in Kasama .
history
Pope Pius X. founded the Apostolic Vicariate Bangueolo on January 28, 1913 from cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate Nyassa . On July 10, 1952, she took the name Vicariate Apostolic Kasama .
With the Apostolic Constitution Cum christiana fides she was raised to a diocese on April 25, 1959. With the bull Qui altissimi Dei on July 12, 1967, it was raised to the rank of metropolitan archbishopric. In November 1995 integrated four parishes that belonged to the diocese of Mpika.
It lost parts of its territory in favor of the establishment of the following dioceses:
- May 26, 1933 to the Mission sui juris Lwangwa ;
- July 10, 1952 to the Apostolic Prefecture of Fort Rosebery .
