James Mwewa Spaita

James Mwewa Spaita (born April 8, 1934 in Bombwe , † November 4, 2014 in Kasama ) was Archbishop of Kasama .

Life

James Mwewa Spaita was ordained a priest for the diocese of Fort Rosebery on September 9, 1962 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him bishop of Mansa on February 28, 1974 . The episcopal ordination received his Archbishop of Kasama , Elias Mutale White , on April 28, 1974; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Luciano Angeloni , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Malawi and Zambia , and René-Georges Pailloux MAfr , Old Bishop of Mansa. His episcopal motto was To Serve, Not To Be Served .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Kasama on December 3, 1990, succeeding the fatally injured Elias White Mutale . On April 30, 2009 Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation.

For over 40 years he has been committed to the partnership between the Catholic parish of Zum Guten Hirten Möhnesee in Körbecke and the diocese of Kasama.
