Francis James Harrison

Francis James Harrison (born August 12, 1912 in Syracuse , † May 1, 2004 ibid) was Bishop of Syracuse .

Life

Francis James Harrison was ordained a priest on June 4, 1937 .

Paul VI appointed him on March 1, 1971 auxiliary bishop in Syracuse and titular bishop of Aquae in Numidia . The Archbishop of New York , Terence James Cardinal Cooke , ordained him bishop on April 22 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were John Joseph Maguire , Coadjutor Archbishop of New York , and Harold Robert Perry SVD , Auxiliary Bishop of New Orleans .

The Pope appointed him on 9 November 1976 to the Bishop of Syracuse and it was introduced into office on 6 February of next year. On June 16, 1987, John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
