Francis Kurkdjian

Francis Kurkdjian (born May 14, 1969 in Paris ) is a French perfumer of Armenian descent and has been the first contemporary perfumer to offer custom-made fragrances since 2001.

Life

Before his career as a perfumer, Kurkdjian studied classical piano and ballet, but decided to become a perfumer in 1985. In 1993 he finished his training at ISIPCA ( Institut supérieur international du parfum, de la cosmétique et de l'aromatique alimentaire ) in Versailles. In the same year Kurkdjian joined the fragrance producer "Quest International". In 1995, when he was 25, he created the fragrance “Le Male” for Jean Paul Gaultier . Since then, Kurkdjian has created over 40 fragrances for well-known brands such as Escada , Dior , Yves Saint Laurent , Versace and Giorgio Armani .

Together with Marc Chaya, he opened the perfume house “Maison Francis Kurkdjian” in Paris in 2009, under whose name they manufacture perfumed luxury products. The price for a Kurkdjian custom fragrance starts at $ 12,000.
