Francis Laurent

Francis Laurent (born January 6, 1986 in Paris ) is a former French football player .

Career

In 2006, Laurent moved from FC Sochaux to Eintracht Trier , who had been relegated from the Regionalliga Süd and wanted to get promoted from the Oberliga Südwest to the Regionalliga. This failed (the Trier finished fourth), so Laurent left the club and joined the 1. FSV Mainz 05 at the age of 21 . In the first half of the 2007/08 season he played six times as a substitute in the professional squad in the 2nd Bundesliga . In the first round encounter in the DFB Cup against Wormatia Worms , he scored a goal in the Mainz team's 6-1 win.

In 2008, after two years in Germany, he moved to Southend United in England , where he initially signed for one year. After performing well, he extended his contract for two years in December. In 2010, however, Laurent went to his French homeland for the amateur club AFC Compiègne . In January 2011 Laurent signed a contract with Northampton Town in fourth-rate League Two . After holding positions at Lincoln City , KVK Tienen and FC Chambly , he has not appeared at any club since summer 2014.
