Francis Phillimore, 5th Baron Phillimore

Francis Stephen Phillimore, 5th Baron Phillimore (born November 25, 1944 ) is a British peer and politician of the Conservative Party .

life and career

Philimore was born on November 25, 1944 to Claud Phillimore, 4th Baron Phillimore and Anne Elizabeth Dorrien-Smith († 1995). He attended Eton College and Trinity College . He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts .

In 1972 he was admitted to the Middle Temple Bar Association . He was a steward for the Hurlingham Polo Association . Philimore was President of the Binfield Heath Polo Club and Vice President of the Henley Society . At the Venice in Peril Fund he was a member of the trustee .

He was also a member of the Shiplake Parish Council and the Eye and Dunsden Parish Council . He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers and a member of the Committee of Assistents . He became the Commodore of the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity .

His hobbies include the arts, polo , tennis , sailing , shooting sports and Venetian rowing.

Phillimore is a member of the Hereditary Peerage Association .

Membership in the House of Lords

After the death of his father in March 1994, he inherited the title of Baron Philimore and the then associated seat in the House of Lords . He took his seat for the first time on October 24, 1995. He gave his inaugural address on January 10, 1996 for the Restaurants (Service and Cover Charges) Bill . He spoke several times on the Family Law Bill . The last time he spoke up was on July 25, 1997, on the Employment Rights (Dispute Resolution) Bill .

Philimore lost his seat through the House of Lords Act 1999 . He had not run for election for any of the remaining seats. He is not listed in the Register Of Hereditary Peers , who are available for by-election.

family

Phillimore married Nathalie Berthe Louisa Pequin on May 27, 1971, daughter of Michael Anthony Pequin from Paris . They have two sons and a daughter together.
