Baron Phillimore , of Shiplake in the County of Oxford , is a hereditary British title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .

Today's family residence of the barons is Coppid Hall in Shiplake near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire, they also owned the Phillimore Estate in Kensington earlier .

Award

The title was created on July 2, 1918 for former High Court of Justice Justice and Lord Justice of Appeal jurist Sir Walter Phillimore, 2nd Baronet . In 1885 he had inherited the title of Baronet , of The Coppice in the parish of Shiplake in the County of Oxford, from his father , which was awarded to him on December 28, 1881 in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom.

Today's title holder has been his great-great grandson Francis Phillimore as 5th Baron since 2012 .
