Francisco Elías de Tejada y Spínola

Francisco Elías de Tejada y Spínola (born April 6, 1917 in Madrid ; † February 18, 1978 ibid) was a Spanish philosopher and taught legal philosophy at various universities. He represented Spanish traditionalism and European natural law . Politically he was a Carlist .

Life

Elias de Tejada passed the Abitur examination in Seville in 1933 (bachiller). After studying there and in Madrid, he also went to Berlin in 1934 and Frankfurt am Main in 1935. In 1939 he received his doctorate. iur. In addition to the legal philosophy, he conducted (legal) historical studies, also on the Kingdom of Naples in the Spanish period and on Portugal. The result was a comprehensive picture of the history of European political ideas .

Since the 1940s he defended Karlism in the circle of Franz Xaver von Bourbon-Parma . But in 1962 he distanced himself in favor of Prince Carlos Hugo . In 1963 he took part in the founding of the Centro de Estudios Históricos y Políticos "General Zumalacárregui ", as its president he organized cultural activities and congresses on the history and teaching of traditionalist politics. During the dissolution of the Francoist dictatorship , he joined various monarchist communities.

He taught at the universities of Murcia (1941), Salamanca (1942), Seville (1951–1977) and, after some difficulties, Madrid .
