Francisco Fajardo (* 1524 in Isla Margarita , Nueva Esparta, † 1564 in Cumaná ) was a Venezuelan conquistador who founded several villages in Venezuela .

He was the son of Lieutenant Francisco Fajardo and Isabel, an Indian of the Guaiquerí ethnic group. In 1555 he went to the mainland to conquer the land of the Caracas. He landed in Chuspa , but returned to Margarita shortly afterwards. Two years later he traveled to the Caracas area again, this time with his mother, who had connections with the tribes of the region, and with 100 Guaiquerí Indians.

In 1560 , Fajardo founded the San Francisco Court. But the Indians of the region constantly attacked the court. This had to be given up. Fajardo also founded the village of El Collado, where Caraballeda would later arise.

When Lope de Aguirre arrived in Margarita, Fajardo went there to defend the island. He went back to the Caracas Valley. Since the Caribs continued to attack his settlement and he received no support, he went back to Margarita. In 1564 he went to Cumaná, where the judge Alonso Cobos captured him and had him executed.
