Francisco Javier Stegmeier Schmidlin
Francisco Javier Stegmeier Schmidlin (born May 19, 1962 in Los Ángeles , Región del Bío-Bío , Chile ) is Bishop of Villarrica in Chile.
Life
He was a student at the German grammar school of the Steyler Missionaries in Los Ángeles. He received a licentiate in theology from the University of Santa Cruz in Rome . In 1982 he entered the San Rafael Seminary in the Diocese of Concepción . Francisco Javier Stegmeier Schmidlin was ordained a priest on December 3, 1988 in the diocese of Los Ángeles .
As such, he was pastor of the parish la Sagrada Familia in Los Ángeles, professor at the seminary of Concepción and most recently professor of dogmatics at the Theological Institute of the Catholic University of Concepción . Since 2006 he has also been the rector of the Concepción seminary. He was appointed Bishop of Villarrica on February 7, 2009 .
