Francisco Kroepfl

Francisco Kröpfl (born February 26, 1931 in Timișoara , Romania ) is an Argentine composer .

Life

Kröpfl studied in Buenos Aires with Juan Carlos Paz . In 1950 he became a member of the Agrupación Nueva Música , which he has headed since 1956. In 1959 he set up the first studio for electronic music in Latin America. In 1967 he became director of the electronic music department of the Centro Latinoamericano de Altos Estudios Musicales (CLAEM). He is president of the Federación Argentina de Música Electroacústica (FARME), musical director of the Agrupación Nueva Música and professor at the University of Buenos Aires.

In addition to chamber and film music , collective compositions play an important role in Kröpfl's work.
