Francisco Silva Jiménez (born February 3, 1923 in El Salto , Jalisco ; † May 4, 2004 ), also known by the nickname El Borrego ( Spanish for "The Sheep "), was a Mexican football player who mainly played in midfield . He got his nickname because his father called him "Borreguito" (little sheep) because of his blue eyes.

Life

Silva began his football career at his hometown club Club Corona and when professional football was introduced in Mexico for the 1943/44 season , he was obliged by the neighboring Club Deportivo Guadalajara , where he stayed until the 1949/50 season.

After finishing his professional career, he returned to his hometown El Salto, where he worked in the textile factory Río Grande and played for a few years for the football team of Club Deportivo Río Grande that emerged from this factory .
