Franciszek Kokot
Franciszek Kokot (born November 24, 1929 in Rosenberg OS ) is a Polish doctor, nephrologist and endocrinologist. He is considered a pioneer of nephrology in Eastern Europe. He is a full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences .
Franciszek Kokot was born in Rosenberg in Upper Silesia (now Olesno in Poland ). From 1948 to 1953 he studied medicine at the Silesian Medical University of Katowice . From 1975 he headed the nephrological clinic in Zabrze . In 1969 he became professor at the Silesian Medical Academy in Katowice (Polish Śląska Akademia Medyczna w Katowicach), and from 1982 to 1984 also its rector.
