Franck is a small impact crater near the northern end of Sinus Amoris , a bay in the northern part of Mare Tranquillitatis . The crater is southeast of Brewster and south of Römer crater . The circular, bowl-shaped crater has a narrow rim and hardly any traces of erosion. The inner walls slope down towards the center and form a small crater floor in the center. On its north side it is accompanied by a pair of smaller craters and the three together form an impact group.

Marriage Franck in 1973 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) was given its own name, he became a Roman K , respectively.
