Römer is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon on the northern edge of the Sinus Amoris , east of Le Monnier and west of Macrobius . The crater wall is terraced and shows traces of extensive landslides. The interior has a central mountain .
To the west of the crater, the lunar groove structure of the Rimae Römer run in a north-westerly direction.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the Danish astronomer Ole Rømer .
