Franco Bonvicini

Franco Bonvicini , pseudonym Bonvi (born March 31, 1941 in Parma ; † December 10, 1995 in Bologna ) was an Italian comic artist who drew , among others, Die Sturmtruppen , Nick Carter and Milo Marat .

Life

Franco Bonvicini was born in Parma on March 31, 1941 . From 1968 he published his first comic series, Die Sturmtruppen , in the Roman evening newspaper Paese Sera . The satirical work is about a group of Wehrmacht soldiers in Italy during the Second World War. The comic had great success and was translated into several languages.

Together with Guido de Maria he produced the television series Gulp, Fumetti in TV . In 1968 Bonvicini invented the character Cattivik , who appeared in a comic series and later gave his name to an Italian magazine. With Guido Silvestri Bonvicini created the comic strip Nick Carter , which was also implemented in several cartoons. He also worked on the television program Supergulp .

Together with his friend Francesco Guccini , Bonvicini created the science fiction comic Storie dello spazio profondo in 1972 . This was followed by Cronache del dopobomba and Milo Marat . In 1978 his work L'uomo di Tsushima was published. Marzolino Tarantola followed in 1979 .

In the 1980s Bonvicini became a member of the Bologna City Council (through a list of the PCI ) and founded a publishing house with Red Ronnie. He published magazines that published comics by Bonvicini and other cartoonists, as well as articles on comics. His last work is Zona X , which he created together with Giorgio Cavazzano . Franco Bonvicini died on December 10, 1995 in a car accident in Bologna, Zona X was not published until after his death.
