Franco Semioli (born June 20, 1980 in Cirié (TO) , Italy ) is an Italian football player . He mostly plays in the right attacking midfield .

Career

In the club

Semioli started his career in 1998 at Torino Calcio , where he made the leap to the first team as a youth player and made his Serie B debut in 1998/99 . He only came on two missions in total. In 1999/2000 he was awarded to Salernitana Calcio , where he was a regular player. In the summer of 2000, Inter Milan bought 50% of its transfer rights. For the season 2000/01 returned Semioli to Turin back, completed 16 games and climbed to the Toro in the Serie A on. In January 2002 he was awarded to Ternana Calcio in Serie B after three games in Serie A. There he could not assert himself and rose with the team at the end of the season in the C1 series . The season 2002/03 Franco Semioli spent, again on loan, at Vicenza Calcio , where he made the breakthrough after a difficult start to the season. He made 32 appearances and caught the attention of some Serie A clubs.

In the summer of 2003, Franco Semioli moved to AC Chievo Verona , which Torino Calcio bought his transfer rights. There he quickly won a regular place and played a total of 133 Serie A games in four years. From 2005 he was 100% owned by the Verona Club.

For the 2007/08 season he moved to Fiorentina for around 6.3 million euros , where he signed a long-term contract until June 30, 2011. But already in 2009 he moved to Serie A competitor Sampdoria Genua , with whom he was relegated to Serie B in 2010/11 .

In the national team

Franco Semioli has played a total of 24 international junior matches for Italy since 1998. On August 16, 2006, he made his debut under Roberto Donadoni in the 2-0 draw against Croatia in the Italian national team . So far, he has played a total of three international matches.
