Franjo Jakovac (born January 24, 1961 in Mrkopalj ) is a former Yugoslav biathlete and later Croatian biathlon trainer .

Franjo Jakovac started for the Ski Klubb Mrkopalj from his hometown. The Croatian had his greatest international success when he took part in the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , in then undivided Yugoslavia. After he was not nominated for the individual and the sprint, he came in the relay race alongside Andrej Lanišek , Jure Velepec and Zoran Ćosić as the final runner and was with these 17th.

As a trainer, he was the Croatian national biathlon coach at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City .
