Frank Creyelman

Frank Creyelman (born August 10, 1961 in Termonde ) is a Belgian politician of the Vlaams Belang party .

Syria

As President of the Commission for Foreign Policy, European Politics and International Cooperation of the Flemish Parliament, Frank Creyelman wanted to invite six members of the Syrian parliament, as well as from the ruling coalition and the parliamentary opposition, to Flanders in January 2014 .

In order to be able to participate in the round table , the Syrian MPs (Christians and Alawis) applied for a visa, which they were refused at the Belgian embassy in Beirut.

Republic of Crimea

During the referendum on the independence of the Republic of Crimea from Ukraine, Member of the Flemish Parliament Frank Creyelman was present as an observer. According to Creyelman, the referendum could serve as a model for Flanders. He described the Crimea as a truly inspiring example , the organization of the referendum and the electoral procedure as very right (error-free) and civilized (très correctes et civilisés).
