Frank E. Peretti (born January 13, 1951 in Lethbridge , Alberta ) is an American writer .

Life

He was born the son of a pastor . His father led a congregation in the Assemblies of God Church (a Pentecostal church ). From the beginning, Frank had a pious upbringing. Even in his childhood he liked to tell stories he had invented himself. After graduating from school in 1968, he first joined a music group and took part in studio recordings. In the late 1970s he enrolled at a university for English, film and theater studies. Disappointed with his time in Hollywood , he returned to Washington in 1978 and supported his father with his work in the parish until 1983. He then worked in a ski factory and lived in a caravan (trailer). During this time he wrote his first novel This Present Darkness ( This Present Darkness ). The book initially had some teething problems in the USA, but after some well-known artists discovered the novel and thus made it public, a real "Peretti mania" began in the USA. Since the publication of his second book Piercing the Darkness ( light in the darkness ), he has become quite facing the writing and lives with his wife Barb withdrawn in the Pacific Northwest.
