Frank Eickermann

Frank Eickermann (named after the Hindu fire god Agni by his followers ) is a German spiritual teacher, author, entrepreneur, founder of a new religious movement .

Eickermann worked as a naturopath in Bonn before offering various seminars and training courses from 1990. In these he communicates his teachings and attracts new followers. In addition, his teachings are widely disseminated through a number of esoteric, religious, and pseudoscientific books. He is considered one of the most successful marketers of esoteric offers.

The courses offered are the central element of his expanding entrepreneurial activities. Possibly through the course fees he finances his "light centers", which are newly emerging worldwide, in which healers trained by him offer the events he has designed. A few hundred active followers can currently be assumed. The majority of his followers offer spiritual services themselves, so that potentially several thousand people come into contact with his network. It is unclear to what extent this corporate network is organized hierarchically .

The Evangelical Church in the Rhineland sees a danger in Eickermann's movement and warns of an "absorbing structure". Eickermann embodies a messianic figure for his followers and has an almost absolute claim to authority . She rates the risk of existential psychological and financial dependency as high.

Eickermann's teaching and network

Worldwide there are a number of larger and smaller light centers in which those interested can take advantage of spiritual offers. This includes meditation, counseling, treatments as well as seminars and training. Some of the content and methods were developed by Frank Eickermann, others by the heads of the light centers themselves. As a result, each light center has its own profile. The most important light centers are the Château Amritabha in Ribeauvillé and the Shiva Dharma Center in Gulfport , Florida, which is run by his ex-wife. Other centers exist in more than two dozen states.

The courses offered can be divided into independent short seminars (a few hours), seminars and training courses that build on one another. The seminar lasts from one to several days. Training courses usually last several weeks and are spread over several months up to two years. In the short seminars, for example, the focus is on dissolving psychological blockages, achieving professional success or solving relationship problems. As a rule, however, the seminar leaders do not have any psychotherapeutic training recognized outside of the Eickermann network. Registration forms for these seminars point out that the events cannot replace psychotherapy . Embedded religious cults and ceremonies create a certain claim to truth and a religious-authoritarian atmosphere. Regular meditations, rituals, baptisms and other offers are free. Short seminars usually cost between ten and 100 euros, depending on the direction and topic. Seminars and training courses have higher prices. A four-week training course to become a “spiritual teacher” costs 12,000 euros.

In a ceremonial act, participants in a light seminar are given spiritual names. This practice is also carried out with relatives children. The new name should underline a newly perceived identity of the participant. The deeper he penetrates the network, the clearer the demarcation from the previous life should become. According to Eickermann's teaching, the past has no meaning, the new task is the only thing that matters. This demarcation harbors a great potential for conflict with external reference persons. Alpha Chi Consultant graduates can offer their own - often fee-based - services such as Feng Shui , mediation and terminal care. The training to become a “spiritual teacher” authorizes the graduates to conduct their own “way into the light” seminars. As a result, interested parties are promised career prospects. The extent to which Eickermann intervenes in the officially independent multiplier activity is unknown.

Eickermann combines elements of various religions and esoteric currents in his teaching. As the self-proclaimed reincarnation of the fire god Agni , he is in a divine position for his followers. The display of his picture on a house altar is common practice for many. The doctrine of chakras comes from Hindu tradition. In addition, there are shamanistic cults and the worship of Jesus as love personified. He also uses Buddhist and Christian symbolism. Eickermann's supporters decide independently in an active process for the degree of their integration. However, the Eickermann network promises you solutions for problems in a variety of ways. These range from simple religious cult experiences through self-discovery to the prospect of financial gain, among other things through the cooperation of his trained "light warriors", who are supposed to help him - the "fire god" - financially to carry out his will on earth.

Advanced followers get hold of a scripture of faith that is withheld from the public: Life in fire . This describes the student-teacher relationship as follows:

“The teacher is the initiate who carries the divine knowledge” ( Life in Fire , p. 3)
“You are lost in the omnipotence of your teacher.” ( Life in Fire , p. 37)
“You let all people on this path and all bonds that you have established are behind you. ”( Life in Fire , p. 68)
“ Only absolute submission and surrender to the teacher make the next step free ”( Life in Fire , p. 47).
"As a student there is no 'I want'" ( Leben im Feuer , p.72), "because your teacher is omnipotent and embodies the omnipotence of God for you" ( Leben im Feuer , p.75).
