Frank G. Hirschmann

Frank G. Hirschmann (born September 17, 1955 in Duisburg ) is a German historian .

Hirschmann studied languages ​​from 1973 to 1980 at the universities of Bonn , Cologne , Tours and Granada, and from 1988 to 1994 history at the University of Trier . In 1994 he received his doctorate and in 1999 he completed his habilitation in Trier. Since then he has represented chairs in Trier and at Saarland University and has curated numerous historical exhibitions. Since 2006 he has been working as an adjunct professor in Trier. He also works for various museums as well as the Trier Tourism and Marketing GmbH and numerous other institutions. From 2007 to 2020 he was a lecturer at Heidelberg University. His main research interests are comparative urban history, religious institutions and the history of the Rhineland, the Low Countries and northern France. He also acted as a director for numerous theater and music theater productions.
