Frank Kämmer

Frank Kämmer (born February 8, 1968 in Ludwigsburg ) is a German wine specialist and author .

education

From 1984 to 1987, he graduated in agriculture and Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe a vocational training to restaurant manager . 1997 followed a further training to become a specialist in marketing . In 2004 he took a distance learning course at Cornell University (USA), which he completed with a Certification in Essentials of Hospitality Management .

Professional background

Frank Kämmer worked from 1988 to 1989, first as a sommelier in the Hotel Intercontinental in Stuttgart and then from 1989 to 2004 in the same position in the Stuttgart star restaurant Délice .

In 1994 he was accepted into the Association des Maitres-Conseils en Gastronomie Française and in 1996 he passed the master sommelier examination , the highest international award in his profession. In 2002 he was the first German to be accepted into the Circle of Wine Writers founded in 1960 . The elite group of leading, predominantly British wine journalists comprises around 280 members.

Today, Kämmer works full-time as a consultant in the wine and catering industry. His customers include companies such as the Chinese wine group Changyu , the Burgundy importer KierdorfWein and the South African winery 4G . Frank Kämmer has published numerous books on the subject of wine and spirits and is a regular author of various specialist publications, including the Vinum Wine Guide.
