Frank Maxwell

Frank Maxwell (born November 17, 1916 in New York City , † August 4, 2004 in Santa Monica , California ) was an American actor.

life and career

He made his television debut in 1951, where he then took on guest roles in many series. He played in Perry Mason , Mike Hammer , Cobra, Take Over , Quincy , among others - he played authority figures particularly often. His longest-running television role was from 1978 to 1990 as Dan Rooney in the soap opera General Hospital .

From the end of the 1950s he also appeared in numerous films, such as 1958 alongside Montgomery Clift and Myrna Loy in Life is a Lie , 1961 alongside Lana Turner and Jason Robards in And the Night Will Be Silent and with William Shatner in Roger Cormans White terror . In the latter film he had one of his most extensive film roles as a newspaper editor, who begins to campaign against racism in his hometown and has to pay dearly for it.

Frank Maxwell's first marriage was to actress Maxine Stuart , from whom they had a daughter. He was married to his second wife, actress Rita Lynn , until she died from cancer in 1996. Frank Maxwell died of heart failure in 2004 at the age of 87.
