Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer is an American crime series starring Darren McGavin and the first TV series based on Mickey Spillane's die -hard private investigator. It was first broadcast from 1958 to 1959 and comprises 78 half-hour episodes filmed in black and white in two seasons.
In the 1980s, two more "Mike Hammer" series appeared (see Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer (TV series, 1984) ). From 1997 to 1998 a fourth series called Mike Hammer, Private Eye was released. All three subsequent series are cast with Stacy Keach in the title role.

The series is about the adventures of die-hard private detective Mike Hammer, who solves his cases with fist, gun and charm. At his side is the police officer Pat Chambers (played by Bart Burns ).

The first broadcast of the first season took place from January 7 to October 12, 1958. The second season was shown for the first time from January 2 to October 3, 1959. The series has not yet been dubbed in German.
On September 20, 2011, A&E Home Video released Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer - The Complete Series in the form of a twelve-part DVD set.
