Boris Sagal
Boris Sagal (born October 18, 1923 in Yekaterinoslav , Soviet Union , now Ukraine , † May 22, 1981 in Portland , Oregon ) was an American director .
He was married twice and had four children - all from his first wife, Sara Zwilling. With his second wife, Marge Champion , he remained childless. His children, Katey Sagal , Joe Sagal , Jean Sagal and Liz Sagal, have all found their feet in the film industry and work as actors, directors or writers. His eldest daughter, Katey, was best known for her role as Peggy Bundy on the sitcom A Terribly Nice Family .
On May 22, 1981 Boris Sagal was fatally injured by the rotor blades of a helicopter while filming the miniseries World War III .
