Frank Mills

Frank Mills (born June 27, 1942 in Montreal ) is a Canadian pianist who is best known for his composition Music Box Dancer .

Career

Frank Mills studied composition at McGill University from 1961 to 1965 . From 1969 he was a member of the Canadian music group The Bells. As a solo interpreter, Mills initially had little success after leaving the band in 1972.

His most important hit by far is the 1978 title Music Box Dancer , which reached number 3 in the USA . At the same time, it was his only one to achieve a position higher than 40th place in the USA. The piece's printed sheet music has sold over three million copies. In Germany he came in at number twelve with the single and stayed in the charts for 18 weeks. In Switzerland, Music Box Dancer was number one on the charts for five weeks.
