Frank Nitsche (painter)
Frank Nitsche (* 1964 in Görlitz ) is a contemporary German painter .
Life
From 1988 to 1995 Nitsche studied at the Dresden University of Fine Arts . His works are exhibited at the Center Pompidou in Paris, the mudam - Musée d'Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean in Luxembourg and the Tate Britain in London. Other works are in collections such as the Rubell Family Collection , the collection Marx , the Goetz Collection , the Collection Lipschutz, the Arad Collection and the New Masters Gallery in Dresden.
Nitsche's abstract pictures are constructions of symbolically arranged surfaces, shapes and lines. Meticulously curved arches, overpainting and color transitions, whose formal language is reminiscent of the graphics of the 1950s, give his painting a rather cool character, which is also supported by the numerically abbreviated title.
Frank Nitsche is represented by the galleries Gebr. Lehmann (Dresden), Max Hetzler (Berlin), Leo Koenig (New York City) and others. He lives and works in Berlin.
