Frank Peter Goebel

Frank Peter Goebel , also Frank P. Goebel , (born November 2, 1939 ; † March 4, 2016 ) was a German lawyer specializing in patent law .

Life

Goebel studied law and was in Berlin to Dr. iur. PhD. He worked at the Essen Regional Court ( civil law ; 1967–1973), the Düsseldorf State Chancellery ( constitutional law ; 1973–1975), the Essen Regional Court ( criminal law ; 1975–1976), the Federal Patent Court (patent law; 1976) and the Federal Ministry of Justice (patent law; 1977). In 1979 he moved to the Federal Patent Court with responsibility for patent law. In 1983 he became head of the legal department and in 1991 head of the main legal and trademark department at the German Patent Office .

In 1994 he became presiding judge at the Federal Patent Court in Munich and headed the Senate for utility model complaints and the Senate for plant variety protection .

He held an honorary professorship at the Plekhanov University of Economics in Moscow .
