Frank Pooe

Frank Pooe (born December 2, 1974 ) is a retired South African marathon runner .

In 1993 he was fourth in the junior race at the World Half Marathon Championships in Brussels and won gold with the South African team. At the Half Marathon World Championships in Oslo in 1994 he came in 76th place.

In 1998 he was South African marathon champion, fourth in the national half marathon championships and fifth in the marathon of the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur . In 1999 he defended his national marathon title, finished third in the Boston Marathon and won bronze at the Pan-African Games in Johannesburg .

In 2001, he came in seventh in the national marathon championships and in 16th place in the Beijing marathon . In 2002 he finished eleventh in Beijing.
