Frank Rossner

Frank Roßner (* 1960 ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and politics

Roßner studied mathematics, physics, computer science and ethics to become a teacher and taught at schools in Schwedt , Krölpa and Pößneck . Before reunification he was a member of the SED . During the turning autumn in 1989 he joined the New Forum and in January 1990 became an official member of the SPD. He was an active member for the next four years, but did not make himself available for posts or mandates.

He is a member of the SPD state executive and until 2012 was one of four deputy state chairmen of the SPD state association of Thuringia . From 2000 to 2012 he was also district administrator in the Saale-Orla district . In the district election in January 2012, he lost to the challenger Thomas Fügmann (CDU) in the runoff election . After being voted out, he became a speaker at the Thuringian Institute for Teacher Training, Curriculum Development and Media in Bad Berka . From May 2013 he headed a department in the Thuringian Ministry of Culture.

Roßner ran unsuccessfully in the state elections in Thuringia in 2014 as a direct candidate in the Saale-Orla-Kreis II constituency and placed 26th on the state list. Since the beginning of 2015 he has been the President of the Thuringian State Administration Office, the official inauguration took place on February 19. The post was awarded without an advertisement.
