Frank Schmidt (politician, 1943)
Frank Schmidt (born December 1, 1943 in Leipzig ) is a German politician ( CDU ).
Life
Schmidt attended elementary, middle and high school in Leipzig and passed his Abitur in 1963 with an apprenticeship as an electrical mechanic. He studied information technology at the TU Dresden , acquired the title of graduate engineer and also obtained his doctorate there. Ing.
Schmidt worked at the TU Dresden, initially as a research assistant in research and development in industry, later as a lecturer for semiconductor technology. In 1987 he became a research engineer with a teaching position for automation technology at the engineering school for the food industry in Dippoldiswalde .
Schmidt joined the CDU in 1983, where he was a member of the Dresden-South district executive in the late 1980s . In 1990 he was a member of the last People's Chamber and the German Bundestag .
