Francis Shaughnessy

Francis John Shaughnessy junior (born June 21, 1911 in Roanoke , Virginia , † June 12, 1982 in Montréal , Québec ) was an American - Canadian ice hockey player .

Career

Francis Shaughnessy attended McGill University , for which he played ice hockey in parallel with his studies. The Canadian with a US passport was able to take part in the 1936 Winter Games because of his birthplace for the USA. After his ice hockey career, he first worked for a telephone company. For several decades he was involved in the Canadian Olympic Association and was active in various Canadian winter sports associations.

International

For the USA Shaughnessy took part in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , where he and his team won the bronze medal.
