Frank Sichau

Frank Sichau (born December 18, 1947 in Wanne-Eickel ) is a German politician ( SPD ) in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Sichau was born in Wanne-Eickel in 1947. After graduating from high school in 1966, he did his basic military service from 1967 to 1968. In 1969, Sichau began studying Protestant theology at the Bethel Church University , which he continued from 1969 to 1972 at the Ruhr University in Bochum and from 1972 to 1975 at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . In 1975 he passed his first and in 1977 his second state examination. In 1975 Sichau became vicar in the Protestant Johannes parish in Recklinghausen . In 1977 he became a pastor and since 1978 he has been a pastor of the Herne parish in the vocational school. In 1979 he was also appointed district commissioner for religious studies at vocational schools in the Herne church district.

Sichau is married and has two grown sons.

politics

Sichau has been a member of the SPD since 1968. He began his political career from 1970 to 1971 as chairman of the Young Socialists (JUSOS) of the Wanne-Eickel district and from 1971 to 1972 as deputy chairman of JUSOS in the Ruhr-Mitte sub-district. From 1974 to 1978 he was deputy chairman of the arbitration commission in the district of Western Westphalia. Since 1980, Sichau has been a member of the Herne sub-district executive committee of the SPD. From 1990 to 2002 he headed the local SPD association Wanne-Ost. Since 2000 he has been deputy chairman of the SPD sub-district of Herne.

From 1979 to 1995 he was a member of the city council of Herne. The SPD parliamentary group elected him from 1991 to 1994 as deputy chairman of the parliamentary group. From 1989 to 1994 he also assumed the function of chairman of the youth welfare committee. From 1984 to 1994 he was a member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Herne and from 1990 to 1994 first deputy chairman of the supervisory board of the non-profit employment company in Herne. Sichau has been chairman of drug counseling since 1991. Sichau is still an active member of various socio-politically active associations.

From 1995 to 2010 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia and a member of the petitions committee and the legal committee.
