The Frankenberger Mühle (also: Frankenberger's Mühle ) is a former mill in the municipality of Mühltal in the Hessian district of Darmstadt-Dieburg on the western edge of the Odenwald .

Geographical location

The Frankenberger Mühle is in the street In der Mordach 1 on a mill ditch that branches off from the Beerbach immediately in front of the mill . A few meters north of the Frankenberger Mühle, the Mühlgraben flows back into the Beerbach.

History and description

The mill was built in 1707 as a grinding and wood cutting mill. The main house - with the arched extension to accommodate the mill wheel - the polygonal closed mill system was massively renovated in the 19th century. Nevertheless, a large part of the historical structure has been preserved in the mill and the outbuildings.

Monument protection

Today the mill is purely a residential building. The remainder of the historical building material documents the economic and historical importance of the mill in the region. For architectural, industrial, local and economic reasons, the building is a listed building .
