geography
course
The Beerbach runs in the Vorderen Odenwald and in the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park .
Its source is east of Steigerts on the northeast slope of the mountain Auf dem Steigerts ( 439 m above sea level ) at 370 m altitude.
The Beerbach, which mainly flows northwards along the state road 3098, runs in the upper reaches through Ober-Beerbach , a district of Seeheim-Jugenheim , and in the middle reaches - east of Langenberg (approx. 430 m ) - through Nieder-Beerbach , a district of Mühltal . Then the brook passes the Mühltaler hamlet In der Mordach and its lower course near the mouth flows along the eastern outer border of the city of Darmstadt protected landscape area ( CDDA no. 378691; 2004 designated; 71.2155 km² in size).
Finally , the Beerbach flows a little after crossing under the federal highway 426 between the Neue Bohlenmühle and the Engelsmühle on the southern city limits of Darmstadt at an altitude of about 147 m above sea level. NN into the Rhine tributary Modau , which flows approximately from the east .
Opposite the mouth to the north is the Koppenmühle , and Darmstadt-Eberstadt is a little further down the Modau .
Its 11.99 km long run ends about 223 meters below its source, so it has a mean bed gradient of about 26 ‰.
