The Waschenbach is a left tributary of the Modau , in the Hessian district of Darmstadt-Dieburg .

Geography and course

The Waschenbach is a brook in the Vorderen Odenwald in the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park . Its source lies in a meadow area on the northern edge of Frankenhausen. It flows through the Waschenbach valley in a northerly direction. The stream crosses under the “Zeilstraße” / K138, crosses the Waschenbach quarry and the town of Waschenbach . North of Waschenbach the stream flows past the "Pinkmühle"; Immediately behind the mill, the “Griesbach” flows into the Waschenbach from the right and east. Then the Waschenbach crosses under the federal highway 426 and flows past the "Schneckenmühle". Immediately behind the mill, the stream crosses “Waschenbacher Strasse” / K138. Then the Waschenbach flows along the “Nieder-Beerbacher-Straße” in a south-westerly direction and passes under it. On the southern edge of Nieder-Ramstadt , the brook flows into the Modau from the left and east .
