Look at Steigerts

Steigerts is the smallest settlement in the community of Seeheim-Jugenheim in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in southern Hesse . It is located in the southeastern district Ober-Beerbach .

Geographical location

Steigerts is surrounded by forest in the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Nature Park on the border between the Bergstrasse and the Vorderen Odenwald .

history

Steigerts was not settled until 1772 when a settler bought a piece of land from the property of the church and built his house on it.

The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Steigerts in 1829:

"Steigert's (L. Bez. Bensheim) hamlet: consists of 4 farms and belongs to Oberbeerbach."

In 1956 and 1961, Steigerts was designated as a place to live in Ober-Beerbach. In the 2011 census , 84 residents were counted.
