The Neutscher Höhe is a mountain pass in the Odenwald between Neutsch and Ober-Beerbach in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district of Hesse . Between the two villages, it describes a road crossing on the ridge running in north-south direction, which is followed by the historic Hutzelstrasse . The height of the pass is given at around 360 m , but also at 355 m and 359 m .

location
The Neutscher Höhe is located in the Bergstrasse-Odenwald Geo-Nature Park on the border of the Neutsch district of the Modautal community in the east and Ober-Beerbach of the Seeheim-Jugenheim community in the west. The ridge continues to rise south of the unwooded mountain pass. Along the Hutzelstrasse , the Hundsrück reaches a height of 367.8 m in the north- northeast , the Pechkopf in the south 371.2 m and the Segetskopf in the southeast 376.7 m . About 1.8 km south-southeast of the pass, the mountain range culminates on the 405 m high wooded Allertshofer fir . The pass connects the Modau valleys in the east as well as their tributaries Neutscher Bach in the northeast and Beerbach in the west.
Natural allocation
The Neutscher Höhe belongs to the natural spatial main unit group Odenwald, Spessart and Südrhön (No. 14), in the main unit Crystalline Odenwald Vorderer Odenwald (145) and in the subunit Melibokus-Odenwald (145.0) to the natural area Neutscher Ridge (145.07). To the west the landscape drops into the natural area Hochstädter Senke (145.02).
Possibility of viewing
The Neutscher Höhe is a destination for hikers and cyclists. With good visibility, you can see not only the Bergstrasse and the Hessian Ried , but also Hanau or the skyline of Frankfurt am Main .
Traffic and walking
The narrow connecting road between Neutsch and Ober-Beerbach leads over the Neutscher Höhe and crosses the Hutzelstraße on the pass; At the small intersection there is a fairly large signpost with four direction arrows and pointers. The European long-distance hiking trail E1 leads over the Neutscher Höhe .
Wind farm
There is a wind park with five wind turbines on the Neutscher Höhe . Three Tacke TW 600 systems were put into operation in October 1994 by Odenwaldwind GmbH . It is the first wind farm in southern Germany. In 2011, two much larger and more powerful REpower MM92 systems were built, one of which is operated by the Energiegenossenschaft Starkenburg eG .
