Neutsch is a district of the Modautal municipality in the Darmstadt-Dieburg district in southern Hesse and is located approx. 15 kilometers south of Darmstadt in the front Odenwald . Neutsch is about 320 meters above sea level . The approximately 250 inhabitants live in around 90 households.
history
The history of the place goes back to the 14th century. The first documentary mention is from 1347. In 1370 Konrad von Reckershausen sold the bailiwick to his liege lord Count Wilhelm von Katzenelnbogen for redemption with the consent of his son Wolf . In 1500 belehnte Landgraf Wilhelm of Hesse that of Wallbrunn with Neutsch. In 1722 the brothers Johann Moritz Friedrich von Wallbrunn sold the castle and estate of Ernsthofen with the associated villages, namely Ernsthofen , Asbach , Hoxhohl , Klein-Bieberau and Neutsch, along with slopes in twelve other places, including Ober-Modau , to Landgrave Ernst Ludwig von Hessen Rodau , Waldhausen , Billings and Meßbach .
Neutsch was in the judicial district of the district of Oberramstadt . The centering was divided into so-called "rice car," each of which a top magistrate board that the Zentgrafen were subordinated. This district had to provide a freight wagon ( rice wagon ) including draft animals and servants for campaigns. Neutsch belonged to the "Brandauer Reiswagen", which also included the villages of Brandau , Neunkirchen , Allertshofen , Hoxhohl , Herchenrod , Lützelbach , Ernsthofen , Klein-Bieberau and Webern . The entire district of Oberramstadt was assigned to the Lichtenberg office . This classification existed until the beginning of the 19th century.
In the historical documents, the place is documented under changing place names over the centuries (the year of mention in brackets): Nitz (1370), Nyts (1388), Nytz (1420), Nytze (1457), Nytzs (1488), Neytz (1545), Neitz (1559), Nytze (1602), Neitz (1670) and Neutsch (1722)
The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Neutsch in 1829:
»Neutsch (L. Bez. Reinheim) Lutheran Filialdorf; is 3 St. from Reinheim, consists of 10 houses and has 94 inhabitants, who are Lutheran except for 8 Catholics. The place belonged to the Lord von Wallbrunn and was bought in 1722 by Hessen. There used to be a chapel on the hill near Neutsch, next to the road.
Around 1865 Neutsch belonged to Ober-Modau.
Territorial reform
On January 1, 1977 were part of the municipal reform in Hesse , the previously independent municipalities Neutsch, Asbach, Brandau, Ernsthofen, Klein-Bieberau and Modautal powerful state law to church today Modautal together . For Neutsch, a local district with a local advisory board and mayor was formed according to the Hessian municipal code.

Neutsch belonged to the Oberramstadt district court . In the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt, the judicial system was reorganized in an executive order of December 9, 1803. The “Hofgericht Darmstadt” was set up as a court of second instance for the Principality of Starkenburg . The jurisdiction of the first instance was carried out by the offices or the landlords . The Lichtenberg Office was responsible for Neutsch. The court court was the second instance court for normal civil disputes, and the first instance for civil family law cases and criminal cases. The superior court of appeal in Darmstadt was superordinate . The main courts had lost their function.
With the formation of the regional courts in the Grand Duchy of Hesse, the regional court of Lichtenberg was the court of first instance from 1821 . It followed:

For Neutsch there is a local district (areas of the former municipality of Neutsch) with a local advisory board and a local head according to the Hessian municipal code . The local advisory board consists of five members. Corinne Böckstiegel has been the mayor since the local elections in 2016.
