The groom's morning gift was 4,000 Frankfurt guilders , a debt that he did not pay in cash, but rather by transferring the town and castle of Zwingenberg on Bergstrasse as pledge and their income as income instead of interest. Your father, Ulrich III. von Hanau , on the other hand, on the occasion of the wedding, Wilhelm II prescribed his portion of Tannenberg Castle (one sixth) as a dowry for his daughter . In addition, Wilhelm II received 4,000 pounds of Heller or 400 pounds of Gülte for half the Hanau village of Schaafheim .

In 1375 Wilhelm II was a founding member of the St. George League and in 1379 of the Lion League in Wiesbaden . In 1378 Wilhelm II became captain of the Wetterau imperial land peace.
