The Reinheim District Court (until 1879 Reinheim Regional Court ) was a Hessian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1848 to 1968 and was based in the city of Reinheim . The direct precursor as the first instance court in the Grand Duchy of Hesse was the Lichtenberg Regional Court from 1821 to 1848, with its seat in Lichtenberg .

history

In the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt , the judicial system was reorganized in an executive order of December 9, 1803. The “Hofgericht Darmstadt” was set up as a court of second instance for the Principality of Starkenburg . The jurisdiction of the first instance was carried out by the offices or the landlords . The court court was the second instance court for normal civil disputes, and the first instance for civil family law cases and criminal cases. The superior court of appeal in Darmstadt was superordinate .

With the founding of the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1806, this function was retained, while the tasks of the first instance were transferred to the newly created regional courts in 1821 as part of the separation of jurisdiction and administration. "Regional Court Lichtenberg" and later "Regional Court Reinheim" was therefore the name for the court of first instance in Lichtenberg and Reinheim from 1821 to 1879. In the territorial territories of the Starkenburg province , there was still a judicial office in Michelstadt for court cases of the second instance, which was subordinate to the court. The German Courts Constitution Act of 1879 led to a uniform judicial organization throughout the empire . The “Hofgericht Darmstadt” has now become the “ Regional Court of Darmstadt ” as the superior second instance in the province, while the first instance courts have been renamed the District Court.

district Court

As a result of the abolition of the administrative and judicial offices by the Grand Ducal Hessian Ordinance of July 14, 1821, the Lichtenberg District Court was formed, whose district was initially congruent with the Reinheim District District and thus had the following components:

In 1824, however, the towns of Beedenkirchen and Wurzelbach were assigned to the regional court of Zwingenberg . In 1848 the seat of the district court was moved from Lichtenberg to Reinheim and the name was changed to the district court of Reinheim. The reorganization of the judicial districts in the province of Starkenburg with effect from 1 June 1853 brought major changes for the district of the Regional Court, while low-Ramstadt, Ober-Ramstadt, Roßdorf, Traisa, Waschenbach to the District Court of Darmstadt were made, came from the district court maximum the Places Habitzheim , Nieder-Klingen and Ober-Klingen were added.

District Court

On 1 October 1879 was due to the Judicature Act renamed the District Court Reinheim, the allocation to the district of the newly established Regional Court of Darmstadt , the delivery of Frankenhausen and Neutsch to the nunmehrige District Court Darmstadt II and the integration of previously the district court Michelstadt counting village Nieder-Kainsbach .
