The Bad Wimpfen District Court (until 1879 Wimpfen District Court , until 1930 Wimpfen District Court ) was a Hessian court of ordinary jurisdiction that existed from 1821 to 1943 and was based in the city of Bad Wimpfen .

history

In the Landgraviate of Hesse-Darmstadt , the judicial system was reorganized in an executive order of December 9, 1803. The “Hofgericht Darmstadt” was set up as a court of second instance for the Principality of Starkenburg . The jurisdiction of the first instance was carried out by the offices or the landlords . The court court was the second instance court for normal civil disputes, and the first instance for civil family law cases and criminal cases. The superior court of appeal in Darmstadt was superordinate .

With the founding of the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1806, this function was retained, while the tasks of the first instance were transferred to the newly created regional courts in 1821 as part of the separation of jurisdiction and administration. “Landgericht Wimpfen” was therefore the name for the court of first instance in Wimpfen from 1821 to 1879. In the territorial territories of the Starkenburg province , there was still a judicial office in Michelstadt for court cases of the second instance, which was subordinate to the court. The German Courts Constitution Act of 1879 led to a uniform judicial organization throughout the empire . The “Hofgericht Darmstadt” has now become the “ Regional Court of Darmstadt ” as the superior second instance in the province, while the first instance courts have been renamed the District Court.

As a result of the dissolution of the judicial and administrative offices in the Grand Duchy of Hesse by ordinance of July 14, 1821, the Wimpfen district council was created for the administration and the Wimpfen district court for the judiciary. Both covered the same areas, viz

On October 1, 1879, due to the Courts Constitution Act, the name was changed to Wimpfen District Court and the district was assigned to the newly established Darmstadt District Court . In 1930 the name of the court was changed to Bad Wimpfen District Court.

In 1943 the district court was closed, and in 1945 its jurisdiction was transferred to the Heilbronn district court .
